Chanukah is the eight-night festival of lights. It celebrates the Maccabees' victory and the small jar of oil that burned for eight days in the Temple. Each night we light one more candle on the menorah, eat latkes and doughnuts, and spin the dreidel. Chabad of Surrey lights a giant public menorah in Woking each year, with music, doughnuts and gifts for the children.
